As an interior, architecture, and lifestyle photographer, there’s the fantasy world she creates with captivating images of inspirational spaces and stunning details. There’s the world of her own home in Los Angeles, which is filled with vintage pieces, quirky knick-knacks, three kids, and a husband. Then there’s the world of her travels, where she tries on different cities to see how they fit: Vienna, London, Havana, Bangkok, Tokyo, Panama City.
Lauren thrives on the high energy of a collaborative set, working with stylists, interior designers, and clients to get every individual scene just right. Her versatility as a photographer covers a wide range, from the bright, airy vibes of a California home to the modern/moody sophistication of a New York studio apartment to the playful warmth of a renovated English Victorian. What gets her excited is seeing how natural light plays with a space, making that translation for the viewer, and doing so in an honest and beautiful way. With remarkable attention to detail, she’s always on the lookout for that one small change that makes all the difference.
Having lived in 12 different cities in the U.S., Lauren adapts quickly to new situations and appreciates the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds. She finds inspiration in the realness of street photographers like Robert Frank and Diane Arbus, marrying their ability to evoke a mood with her own clean, focused aesthetic. She’s always thinking about how her images will be used in the end product—be it an editorial spread, an interior designer’s portfolio, or advertising for a commercial client—with the goal of taking viewers through a space and highlighting cohesive design elements. She finds that feeling of nailing the shot exciting and fulfilling, but when her face hurts from smiling so much, she knows it’s been a fantastic shoot.
